Garbage   

The following are ongoing issues of which you need to be aware and help with to accomplish our goal of continued improvement in neighborhood appearance and service:

  • Pickup days are Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Waste Management is providing pickup.
  • Place tree trimmings and branches bundled to the size specified by WM at the curb for pickup on any trash collection day.
  • Bulk or heavy trash items as described in the letter from WM may be placed at the curb only on Fridays.
  • We have a limit of eight trash bags our garbage service will pick up.
  • Per terms of our contract, trash containers should be no larger than 65 gallons. This is so that one person can handle the container.
  • Be aware that due to employment turnover and vacation, Waste Management drivers are not always the same people, and hence, may travel routes differently. To avoid being missed on collection days, place your trash out for pickup by 7AM.
  • Please make sure that on non-collection days your trash containers are not visible from the street.
  • Recycling is available thru private contract with Waste Management.  Call Customer service.  Recycling might be on a different day from regular trash pickup.

    If you feel you have been missed on collection days, please promptly call Waste Management Customer Service report your problem. Many times the driver can be contacted immediately and return to your home for pickup. Again, be sure to identify yourself as a Kings Point resident. If you have another problem of any kind, don't hesitate to call Waste Management Customer Service.
