KINGWOOD NATIONAL NIGHT OUT - Oct 7, 2008
9/25/08 Press Release--Solid Waste Debris Pick Up Information
Following Hurricane Ike, KPCA has increased mosquito spray treatment for the hoards of these pesky blood suckers to three times a week. Cypress Creek Pest Control did not start post hurricane spraying until Sunday night (9-21-08). According to the Cypress Creek rep, these are flood mosquitos that were blown in by the storm winds. They will breed. We do not have problems with standing water in our neighborhoods, but swimming pools that are not clorinated are considered to be standing water. Also, check for standing water in flower pots and saucers. When out, please wear protective clothing and mosquito spray.
Here is an interesting and informative website from the University of Florida regarding mosquitoes.
