Waste
Management is proud to begin providing the services for solid waste collection
for your home. To acquaint
you with our services we have prepared the following information for you.
Effective
July 1, 2008
FIRST COLLECTION DAY:
July 1, 2008 Tuesday
COLLECTION
DAYS/TIME: Your collection days are TUESDAY and FRIDAY. Please be sure your garbage is set out
by 7:00 a.m. on these days.
BACKDOOR
SERVICE: Please place all
household garbage at your garage door and do not place any garbage behind any gates. (8 items at the garage door location) Your garbage containers must be able to
be seen from your driveway. All heavy trash is collected at the curb.

SERVICE DAY
CONTAINER
PACKAGING: Please package your excess household garbage, grass
clippings and leaves in a type of container designed for use as a residential
trash container such as standard, lightweight metal cans, plastic cans or
sturdy plastic trash bags. Important! We do require that branches and tree
trimmings be no greater than three inches (3") in diameter and be cut and
bundled in four-foot (4') lengths weighing forty to fifty pounds (40-50 lbs.). ANY CONTAINERS OVER 45 GAL MUST
BE BAGGED – NO SERVICE OVER 65 GAL
BULK
OR HEAVY TRASH COLLECTION: This additional curbside service is
provided on the second collection day of each week. It includes collection of bulky items
and white goods such as moving boxes (please break them down and bundle them),
old furniture and appliances. Please
note that we can no longer collect CFC refrigerant containing
items (i.e., refrigerators, freezers, etc.) without certification that the
Freon has been properly removed and recycled, pursuant to current Federal
law. LIMIT TWO (2) ITEMS
EACH WEEK
UNACCEPTABLE
ITEMS: For reasons of governmental restrictions, personnel or
community safety and/or protection of equipment, items, such as the following,
cannot be collected: Gasoline, motor oil (and used filters), paint and other
similar liquids (i.e., hazardous wastes); vehicle tires and batteries, and
large pieces of metal such as car fenders and engines; and debris from
construction and major remodeling such as carpeting, rocks, bricks, concrete,
dirt, sand, gravel, roofing, lumber, large pieces of glass, etc., (these items
should be disposed of by the contractor performing the work). Potentially dangerous materials, such
as sharp objects, glass, metal, etc., should be properly identified and
separated from other trash and/or double wrapped to avoid potential injury to
the loader. Large pieces of glass
will not be collected.
HOLIDAYS: Holidays observed: New Year's
Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas
Day. No service on these
holidays. Service will resume-next
regularly scheduled collection day.

SERVICES
Recycling services are provided
every other week on 2ND AND 4TH Thursday of each month.
Please use bins/containers designed
for recycling materials. When you open your recycling account we can sell you a
WM recycling bin.
NEWSPAPER, BI-METAL &
ALUMINUM CANS, PLASTIC (Codes 1 & 2 Only).
On
your recycling day, place the bin AT THE CURB.
To
minimize contamination, please follow these guidelines:
NEWSPAPER: Newspaper
only - this includes everything that comes in your daily paper, but not
the plastic wrapper that the paper came in. This does not include cardboard or other similar
material. Also not included
are paper grocery bags. You may
place your newspaper in a grocery bag to help contain it; however, the bag will
be left behind and may be reused on your next recycling day.
BI-METAL (TIN) & ALUMINUM CANS: Food and beverage cans only - no
foil, pie tins, aerosol cans or scrap metal. Please rinse out cans.
PLASTIC (CODES 1 & 2 ONLY): Plastic containers coded on the
bottom with a 1 or 2 inside a recycling triangle - this includes soft
drink bottles and milk jugs. Plastic bags,
even if marked with a Recycling Code 2, are not accepted, as they are still a
different grade of plastic that will contaminate the load. No other plastics will
be accepted. All
lids caps and rings must be removed. It is not necessary to remove
labels. Please rinse out containers.

Rate: Curbside Recycling Collection $ 3.50 per month.

The
recycling container supplied to you will cost $7.50 one time only. This bin will belong to you, to
use as needed. If your container
is lost, stolen or damaged, a replacement container will be provided for an
additional charge.

Rinsing
food and beverage containers will help to keep your storage and collection
area, and your neighborhood, healthier and cleaner.
q
Holidays
observed are: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day
and Christmas Day. There will be no
recycling (or garbage collection) service on these holidays. Service will resume on the next

All residents are encouraged to participate. Recycling can produce many positive environmental
benefits. Recycling means the
reusing or reprocessing of used materials such as newspaper, metals,
plastic into new products. By recycling, you can help to save our natural resources,
conserve energy, reduce pollution and litter, extend the life of our landfills
and protect the environment. Please do your part to make recycling a success for your
Community and encourage your neighbors to do likewise.

How
are you disposing of the used fluorescent bulbs at home/office?
Our program
offers a safe and easy way to recycle and dispose of fluorescent bulbs that contain small amounts of mercury which
is harmful to the environment. You
can make a difference for the environment by using our WMLAMPTRACKER program to keep these items out of the
landfills. Fluorescent bulbs are being disposed into the landfills at an
