Public Safety Update

Houston Police Department Patrols Kings Point!

KPCA, The Reserve, and Royal Shores share the cost of off-duty Houston Police Department Officers patrolling our area. They are on duty at least three nights per week and welcome your questions or comments, should you see them.

If you have a need for police, call 9-1-1 or if non-emergency, call the Houston Police Department at (713) 884-3131.

You may also file an HPD alert slip; please see link at the bottom of this page. Please pay close attention to the information contained in the following flyer - Filing a Police Report

What Can Homeowners Do to Help Ensure A Secure Environment?

Residents are advised to remain situationally aware in order to protect their property.  One way to increase your knowledge in this area would be t participate in the monthly Public Safety Committee and Positive Interaction Program (PIP) meetings.  The next scheduled meetings are:

                Public Safety Committee
                2nd Wednesday of every month
                7:00 PM
                South Woodland Hills Community Room
                2030 Shadow Rock

                PIP
                3rd Tuesday of every month
                7:00 PM
                Kingwood Church of Christ
                2901 Woodland Hills Drive

You are encouraged to take active measures to secure your homes and property, such as:
  • Install a reputable home security system and engage it every time you leave the house. It doesn't do any good to have a system unless you use it!
  • Set lights inside and outside your house on timers when you will be gone at night. Light deters crime!
  • Lock your vehicles when they’re parked outside, even in your driveway.
  • Don’t leave valuables in plain sight inside your vehicle.

VACATION WATCH

It is recommended that you complete a Houston Police Department (HPD) "Alert Slip" before going on vacation or any other extended absence. Submitting this form will ensure that HPD in Kingwood, and our off-duty HPD officers, are alerted to your absence so they can pay special attention to your home. This slip can be found on the HPD website at:  HPD vacation watch/alert slip
